Former Norwich City and Tottenham favourite John Polston is backing Chris Hughton for success at Carrow Road.

He admits the new boss is a very different character to predecessor Paul Lambert.

Polston told the Pink 'Un: "Norwich is a big job and I think Chris is the ideal appointment.

"I would say they are totally different characters. Paul Lambert was quite vociferous on the touchline, Chris is different.

"I can't imagine Chris being a shouter. He leads by example in terms of what he's done in his playing and coaching career to earn the respect of people.

"I think he's quite relaxed in his approach. He's not a ranter and raver but he knows what he's talking about."
