Ex-Newcastle, Wolves striker Cort primed for big year with Tampa Bay Rowdies

Carl Cort is looking to help NASL champions Tampa Bay Rowdies achieve more success in 2013.

The former Newcastle United and Wolves striker, who scored a crucial goal in the second leg of the NASL Soccer Bowl Final last season, is back from a calf injury and feeling primed as the Rowdies embark on their title defence campaign.

"It's good to be back. I feel as good as I can be. I've got my calf sorted out and I'm feeling fresh," said 35-year old Cort.

"My goal for this year is to continue as I left off last season before I got injured. I was feeling good both physically and mentally and I have been working hard to regain my fitness level."
