Ex-Newcastle striker Quinn hoping Cabaye stays

Former Newcastle United striker Mick Quinn hopes his old club do not sell Yohan Cabaye.

The midfielder is being linked with PSG, Manchester United and Tottenham.

Quinn wrote in the Evening Chronicle: "More than a few people recoiled when Alan Pardew put a world-class tag upon Yohan Cabaye at the weekend.

"I thought he was absolutely spot on.

"There has also been an awful lot of talk, all of it coming from France I might add, about Paris St German spending £20m on the player during this transfer window.

"I happen to think that's a fair price for Newcastle's star midfielder.

"If anything, I'd look for a bit more from one of the world's richest clubs.

"Many believe it a way over-the-top valuation and that if such an offer came in then the club should grab it and not look back."
