Ex-Newcastle star Cabaye eyes Chelsea as PSG's 'first real test'

Yohan Cabaye believes Chelsea will be Paris Saint-Germain's first European test this season.

The French giants host the Premier League club in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday night following their comfortable 6-1 Round of 16 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen.

French midfielder Cabaye, who joined PSG from Newcastle United in January, believes that Jose Mourinho's Blues will provide the first decent examination of Laurent Blanc's side who are one of the top few fancies for the Champions League this season.

"We need to work hard, stay focused and show a lot of respect to their team," the midfielder told UEFA's official website.

"It'll be the first real test for PSG this year in European competition, so we're motivated.

"In the end, the objective is to qualify for the semi-finals. We expect two tough matches and it won't be easy but we're ready to put in the effort."

PSG are at home at Parc des Princes this week before taking on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the return bout on Tuesday April 8.
