Former Newcastle United defender Jean-Alain Boumsong is a shock target for Aston Villa.
The People says Boumsong is looking to get back to the Premier League - five years after his spell at Newcastle United.
The French centre-half, 32, is available at Greek club Panathinaikos and being offered to top-flight sides either on loan or as a free agent.
Boumsong, who played for Villa boss Alex McLeish at Rangers before moving to St James' Park, wants to play in England one last time and is desperate to get fixed up next month.
