Liverpool legend and former Newcastle United coach Terry McDermott rates Lee Clark as one of English football's best young managers.
The former Sunderland and Toon midfielder has Huddersfield Town top of the table in League One.
McDermott acts as his No2 and told the Evening Chronicle: "Lee is a top young manager.
"He has been in charge now for just under three years, he was at Norwich as assistant before that. People say he is getting a bit long in the tooth now.
"But he's certainly going the right way. I try to look him in the eye all the times, and I know he has what it takes.
"He's very thorough in everything he does.
"He is going to go to the very top, I've got no doubts about that.
"Hopefully that will be with Huddersfield."
