Ex-Newcastle boss Hughton looking to get back in the game

Former Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton says he is ready to get back into the managerial game.

The 52-year old lost his job at St James' Park back in December but says he is now ready to return to the coaching caper.

"I've enjoyed the period of time I've had out (of management)... but I feel I've been ready for quite some time," Hughton told Sky Sports News.

"I've always said I'd like to get back in at the right time and at the highest level possible."

Hughton said that the vacant positions at both Chelsea and Aston Villa are very tempting but made it clear that he is not the only one interested.

"I don't think there are many people who wouldn't be interested in those jobs," he added.

"Maybe those clubs will have people in mind but of course I'd be interested in jobs of that calibre.

"But there is a process that takes place and I'm as aware of that as everyone else."
