Former Napoli midfielder Gaetano Fontana has likened Edinson Cavani to Diego Maradona.

Fontana feels Cavani has the same effect on his teammates as the Argentine during his glory days.

"It's not so much the goals that amaze me but the fact that he is a great team player. Cavani can give a contribution even during non-possession, his attitude fascinates me," Fontana told TMW.

"He's getting close (to Maradona) especially because, like Maradona, he is a brilliant player, they are two different players, but undoubtedly brings great enthusiasm to the team."
