New York Red Bulls have confirmed the appointment of Jesse Marsch as their new head coach.
The 41-year old has replaced Mike Petke at the Red Bull Arena following the departure of the club legend who was relieved of his duties after two years at the helm.
Marsch, who was head coach at Montreal Impact in 2012, was thrilled to be named as New York's new boss as he looks ahead to the 2015 MLS season with the Red Bulls.
"I'm honored to be joining a franchise like the New York Red Bulls, and I want to thank the organization for this opportunity," Marsch said in a club statement.
"I'm excited to get going with our players and sporting staff as we prepare for the 2015 season."
New Red Bulls sporting director Ali Curtis brought Marsch on board after reportedly having a clash of philosophies with Petke who had guided the club to the 2013 MLS Supporters' Shield.
