Ex-Molde, Monchengladbach striker Friend joins LA Galaxy

LA Galaxy have announced the signing of Canadian striker Rob Friend from German club 1860 Munich.

The 32-year old will officially become a Galaxy player upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and his impending shift has been welcomed by LA head coach Bruce Arena.

"The addition of Rob Friend to our roster brings a different dimension to our attack," said Arena.

"Rob is a veteran player with a scoring pedigree and we are excited to bolster our roster by bringing him to LA."

Friend has spent his entire professional career in Europe which has included spells in Norway with Moss FK and Molde, in Holland with Heerenveen and Heracles Almelo and in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt and 1860.
