Ex-Millwall, Celtic, Aberdeen man Hartley takes player-manager role with Alloa

Paul Hartley has taken up the player-manager role at Scottish third division club Alloa Athletic.

The34-year old midfielder retired from top flight football as Aberdeen captain just a few weeks ago but is already back in the game by agreeing to take the reins at Recreation Park.

Alloa sacked former boss Allan Maitland after the Wasps were relegated from the second division and now the former Millwall, Celtic, Hearts and Dons midfielder will be the man to guide Alloa into a new era.
