Ex-Middlesbrough striker Christie injured in Hull trials

Released Middlesbrough striker Malcolm Christie is struggling to win a Hull City contract.

Christie has been training with Phil Brown's side for the past four weeks in a bid to prove his fitness and earn a pay-as-you-play deal, but the former Middlesbrough and Derby frontman has now picked up another injury.

Brown confirmed Christie will miss this week's reserve trip to Sheffield Wednesday and added that his future with the club hangs in the balance.

"He's not contracted to a club and he's been travelling in at his own cost every day," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "We'll wait and see where it goes and make sure we're professional by him."
