Ex-Middlesbrough midfielder Robson parts ways with Vancouver Whitecaps

Barry Robson and Vancouver Whitecaps have mutually terminated their agreement after just six months.

The 34-year old Scottish midfielder joined the MLS club from Middlesbrough in July last year and after 18 matches in 2012, will not be returning to Vancouver for the 2013 season.

"We are thankful for the contributions Barry made during his time with the club. Unfortunately Barry and his family never fully settled in Vancouver, and we've mutually decided to move in different directions," said Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi.

"On behalf of the club, I wish Barry the very best in the next stage of his career."

Ex-Inverness, Dundee United and Celtic man Robson added: "Thank you to my teammates, coaches, staff, fans, and media for making my experience in Vancouver enjoyable. I am now looking forward to returning home and beginning the next chapter in my career."
