Barry Robson is set to finally make his MLS debut for Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night.
The 33-year old Scottish midfielder signed with the Whitecaps from Middlesbrough in February but remained in England to see out the Championship season at the Riverside Stadium.
Now the American transfer window has opened, Robson is eligible to play and will make his first appearance against Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. He says he has been slowly ramping up his training in a bid to be well-conditioned for life as a Whitecaps players following a successful career in both England and his native Scotland.
"I've been trying to progress quite slowly because I don't want to get injured and then miss three or four games," he said.
"It's all about making sure I get fit slowly and then stay fit and don't come flying out and hurt myself.
"I'm slowly settling into Vancouver. We have found a house and school for our three young kids, but we're still living in a hotel and dealing with immigration. It's been pretty hectic."
