Former Manchester United winger Ben Thornley wants to see Wilfried Zaha given an extended chance by manager David Moyes.
Zaha is yet to start a league game for the Reds with his total contribution amounting to just 167 minutes of competitive football.
"I don't really know what's happened to Wilfried Zaha it's been a bit of an enigma this season," Thornley told the Manchester Evening News.
"I don't think David Moyes has got anything to lose by giving him a run of three to four consecutive games. He's obviously a talented player, Sir Alex Ferguson bought him last season and he was The Championship player of the year, so he's no mug.
"I think he (David Moyes) could be unearthing a gem in the second-half of this campaign by playing him. If he's not going to use him it would've been an idea to leave him at Palace this year to give him a season of Premier League experience but I don't think it can do any harm at all to give him a run of at least three to four games to show people here what he's capable of."
