Ex-Man Utd teammate slams 'coward, baby' Schmeichel

Paul Parker has turned on former Manchester United teammate Peter Schmeichel.

Schmeichel won the Premier League title five times with United and is revered as one of the world's greatest-ever keeper's, a No 1 who would put his body on the line to make brave saves with all parts of his body.

But Parker blasted to The Sun: '"Big Pete' was a little bit of a coward in certain ways – Peter was loud but he wasn't one who was always going to front up all the time.

“He was a little bit of a baby sometimes… he would throw his rattle out of the pram he would sulk, a big sulker, Pete.

“Pete had his self-important about him, massive self-importance.

“We was in one Sunday and Bryan Robson had a magazine and in that magazine it was talking about Denmark. There was like a poll in there and the poll was 'the most important people in Denmark'.

“One was the king, the second was Peter Schmeichel. But he was just reading it to himself and all of sudden he went…he just shouted out: 'Lads, who's the second most important person in Denmark, do you think?

“'Big Pete's' gone: “It's me, it's me. And that sums up big Pete. He had such an ego, he was so arrogant…everything about him was 'Me'."
