Former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin is backing David Moyes' backroom clearout.
Dublin says Moyes' decision to bring in his own coaching staff is the right way to go.
"I think what everyone has to do is close the door on Sir Alex 's career and look forward to how his successor will deal with it all," Dublin told the Manchester Evening News.
"As harsh as it may sound, that has to be the way forward. David Moyes has to tread his own path and put his own footprints in the sand. I am sure he will have the support of the players and fans.
"It is hard not to look back. But you can't afford to do that. I think the tendency to look back will only be done if United don't do too well next season.
"If you don't get results early, then it is inevitable that there will be a lot of referring back to what Fergie achieved.
"But if Moyes can get early results then it will be a huge help towards closing the Fergie chapter. But it won't be an easy job. We all know that."
