Former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov is being linked with Salford City.
The 36-year-old Bulgarian has been without a club since leaving Greek side PAOK at the end of last season.
And a shock appearance in the north west has sparked rumours of a surprise move, says The Sun.
Berbatov was in attendance to watch Salford's 1-1 draw with Stockport on Saturday.
And his presence at Moor Lane could be a sign that he is considering signing up for the National League North outfit.
Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, ex-United colleagues of Berbatov, own the non-leaguers along with fellow old Red Devils Phil Neville and Paul Scholes.
