Former Manchester United and Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham makes his international debut tonight - at age 34.
Chester Coty defender Higginbotham will turn out for Gibraltar against Slovakia in a friendly at the Estadio Algarve in nearby Portugal while they await construction of a new 10,000 capacity stadium in Gibraltar to meet Uefa requirements.
"I don't ever want to have any regrets and if I'd turned this down it would have been a regret," he told The Sentinel.
"The professionalism out here is unbelievable and they are leaving no stone unturned.
"They are doing everything the right way and hopefully this is the first stepping stone for Gibraltar in years to come."
