Ex-Man Utd pal Howard frustrates Sunderland boss Keane

Sunderland boss Roy Keane was left cursing former Manchester United teammate Tim Howard at the end of yesterday's 1-0 defeat to Everton.

Sunderland almost salvaged a point deep into stoppage time.

Sub Andy Reid curled a delightful free-kick over the wall but Howard produced a superb save to tip it over the bar.

Keane said: "I thought we got a point out of it and I was cursing him.

"But, to be fair, it was a very good save. He's a top keeper.

"It was only really in the last 10 or 15 minutes that we had a go at them."
