Former Manchester United No2 Walter Smith expects his old club to get off to a flyer this season.
Manchester City dramatically finished top of the pile after a last-gasp triumph over QPR at the Etihad gave them their first title since 1968.
Now ex-Everton and Rangers manager Smith says Fergie's troops will start the season with all guns blazing.
"I think you can say there will be a big reaction from United," he told the Daily Star Sunday.
"They are a club with certain standards and they will be keen to claim the title once more.
"It all makes for a fantastic league next season and you would expect the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool to want to have a say as well."
