Former Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz is being linked with the Tottenham job.
The Daily Star Sunday says Queiroz, 60, has revealed his interest.
And sources in Portugal claim Spurs have enquired about his situation.
When asked whether he was eyeing the Spurs job, Queiroz said: "Absolutely. Tottenham is a club I really appreciate a lot and I have great admiration for."
Iran chief Queiroz is also eager for a Premier League return and has had "some private connections in the past" with Spurs owner Daniel Levy.
The former Real Madrid boss said: "One of my coaching dreams is to get back to English football."
