Former Manchester United and Leeds United defender Gordon McQueen can't see England-Scotland games becoming a regular fixture.
England are at Celtic Park to meet Scotland tomorrow night.
McQueen, speaking to Football Supporters' Federation fanzine 'Free Lions', said: "Scotland-England games are nothing like they were.
"It's not the same as the days when the fans saved up for two years to go to Wembley, putting 50p or whatever in a tin each week.
"It's not the same any more - there are Champions League games and all sorts of other big matches.
"They talk about bringing the Scotland-England fixture back, but I don't think it would work. I'm not sure that every England player would be up for it.
"It's still a big game for Scottish players to play in. They've been playing against teams like San Marino and Macedonia more than they have England!
"It's a bit different this time because it's at Celtic Park. There'll be a great atmosphere, but the ticket prices keep going up - it's ridiculous.
"I think the Scotland players will be up for it. Playing England is a massive fixture, but it's not as big as it was.''
