Ex-Man Utd keeper Foster: Birmingham is homecoming for me

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster says his move to Birmingham City will be great for his family.

With two young children, the 27-year-old was eager to settle closer to his Leamington Spa roots.

So for both personal and professional reasons, Foster's arrival at Blues was perfect for all concerned.

"Moving closer to home was a factor, you've always got to take these things into consideration," Foster told the Birmingham Mail.

"I've got a family now and you've always got to think about having to shift your family around.

''So it was nice to know I was moving to a club that was only 20 minutes away from my home town. My partner's from Stoke so again it's ideal, that coupled with other factors such as the manager, the squad that we've got and the ambition of the new owners.

''It was a big draw for me."
