Former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll's comeback ended in disaster.
Carroll - now a free agent after a spell in Norway with Odense BK - turned out for Sheffield United's reserves.
However, the one-time Northern Ireland international looked out of touch as he conceded two goals in seven minutes against Barnsley at Oakwell Academy.
Things got worse for the Blades trialist when he brought down striker John Stones to give away a penalty. He was then red carded.
Carroll, who recently admitted his time at West Ham was ruined by a drink problem, is desperate to return to English football. Barnsley won the game 6-1.
