Ex-Man Utd keeper Bosnich: Fergie will relish Lindegaard, De Gea battle

Former Manchester United and Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich feels Sir Alex Ferguson will be relishing the battle between his two keepers.

Anders Lindegaard has heaped pressure on David De Gea after his performance at Benfica.

"Sir Alex will like that Anders Lindegaard is demanding to play," Bosnich told talkSPORT. "That will provide competition for places.

"The one thing that he'll [Lindegaard] have to remember is that United have spent £18million on De Gea, that makes it different.

"He played outstandingly against Benfica, pulling off some really great saves.

"There's nothing wrong with him [Lindegaard] saying he wants to be United's number one. As a manager there's nothing better than having competition for places."
