Mikael Silvestre is set to miss the rest of the MLS season with Portland Timbers after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) late last week.
The 35-year old former Manchester United and Arsenal defender tore the ACL in his left knee during second half of Thursday's match against the New England Revolution.
Silvestre will soon undergo surgery in Tigard, Oregon and is likely to be sidelined for at least six months and as many as nine.
