Ex-Man Utd defender Moran: Job is too big for Moyes

Former Manchester United defender Kevin Moran has lost faith in manager David Moyes.

Moran wrote in the Sunday World: "For the first time since last May I am now questioning whether David Moyes is the right man for the Manchester United job.

"He's a fine man, personally, very generous with his time for those who need him. The Scot led Everton well for a decade, but I have to wonder now if he is in over his head with Manchester United.

"But Moyes ran out of road for me in Piraeus with that 2-0 defeat to a club that is not at all a contender for the Champions' League. Did you see Real Madrid demolish Schalke in the competition 24 hours later?

"Imagine if United had played against Madrid. Dear God, it could have been awful, a humiliating beating for one of the great football clubs of the world. There are two qualities that all great managers possess. They inspire fear and receive respect.

"It is blatantly obvious to me that David Moyes is struggling for both fear and respect in the Manchester United dressing-room right now."
