Former Manchester United defender Paul McGrath believes Everton right-back Seamus Coleman would be the right fit for the Red Devils.

United have been recently linked with the 26-year-old defender after missing out on the likes of Dani Alves and Nathaniel Clyne and McGrath has backed his former club's pursuit of the Republic of Ireland.

He told talkSPORT: "I definitely think he [Coleman] would be a good fit for Manchester United.

"He has got every attribute a right-back wants. He works so hard, is a good defender, and has got an engine like no other. "I think he would be great for Manchester United and I really hope that is one of the deals that goes through."
