The success of Park Ji-sung at Manchester United has been "huge" in the club's successful push into Asia, says Mike Farnan.
Farnan helped establish United's push into Asia as their international managing director and is now working on the board of new USL club FC New York in the USA.
Asked about the influence of Park in helping raise the profile of United, Farnan told Simon Williams of tribalfootball.com: "I think huge. We saw (Hide) Nakata in Europe in Italy when he played there, once you have that link, it's a huge link.
"Now we're all trying to find a Chinese player who can come through the system.
"The lad that went to Celtic, Zheng Zhi (China Captain) again had a massive appeal."
Asked if United need to find another Park to maintain the momentum, Farnan continued: "Manchester United can continue to grow as long as these players can play at that level. I think it matters.
"United, yeah I think they continue to do this constantly. I think they're a huge machine, I think you have to admire what Peter Kenyon did in his early days. He created a platform and that platform has grown and I have no reason to think that won't continue to grow."
