Former Manchester United coach Mike Phelan is being linked with the Wigan Athletic job.
The Sun says Phelan - who has been Alex Ferguson's right-hand man for the last five years - is favourite to take over as Wigan boss.
The former Manchester United No 2 is the bookies' top choice to succeed Roberto Martinez.
Phelan, 50, left Old Trafford last month following David Moyes' arrival.
