Rene Meulensteen will reportedly turn down the opportunity to join Fulham by signing a big-money deal with the Qatar Football Association.

The former Manchester United coach, who worked closely with Sir Alex Ferguson, was set to join Martin Jol's coaching staff at Craven Cottage.

But the Daily Mail suggests that Meulensteen will become Qatar's national technical director for a seven-figure sum which outweighs the offer made to him by Fulham.
