Former Manchester United captain Lou Macari has backed Stoke City's move for Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf.
Macari wrote in The Sentinel: "I saw a fair bit of Mame Diouf in Manchester United's reserves when he came to England the first time four or five years ago.
"He was only a youngster then and obviously still learning his game, but you could sense a player who loved the ball played over the top for him to give chase and harass defenders.
"He could finish as well and that's something he's gone on to prove in his two years in Germany's Bundesliga with Hanover.
"Mark Hughes obviously rates him after chasing him for the past year and hopefully he will find his feet at Stoke next season."
