Louis Van Gaal says Everton have not contacted him about their vacant managerial position.

The former Manchester United boss has been unemployed since he was sacked by the Red Devils in 2016.

Van Gaal recently emerged as a surprise candidate to replace Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.

And it is understood that the 66-year-old is willing to listen to offers after spending 18 months out of the game.

However, he hasn't heard anything from the Toffees.

Speaking to the Daily Mail on Tuesday night, Van Gaal said: "I've not yet been asked."
