Ex-Man Utd boss Moyes fancies Newcastle job

Former Manchester United boss David Moyes is monitoring the Newcastle United situation. The Daily Star says he is the clear favourite to replace Alan Pardew as Newcastle boss.

The Geordies remain rooted in the relegation zone after falling to a 1-0 loss to Stoke on a night where the Toon Army urged owner Mike Ashley to wield the axe.

Moyes wants to return to management after being sacked by Manchester United in April.

It's understood that the Scot would like to manage the Toon - despite their nightmare start to the season.
