Ex-Man Utd, Atletico forward Forlan tipping Cerezo Osaka improvement

Diego Forlan is confident Cerezo Osaka will continue to improve as the Japanese season progresses.

The Uruguayan striker scored a double in the 2-2 draw at Vissel Kobe on the weekend which saw Cerezo drop to 11th on the J.League table.

Despite the result, the former Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan forward is of the belief that he and his teammates will learn to play together as the campaign evolves and force their way up the league table.

"We deserved to win based on how we played, so we're all disappointed," Forlan told reporters after the match.

"We need to keep playing the same football we played today; if we can do that we'll start to win again.

"We're all starting to understand each other's abilities a lot more. And after three months we'll be playing even better."

Forlan struck in the 54th and 62nd minutes - the second a well-struck effort from just inside the area - to take his tally to five goals in nine league games, increasing his scoring record to 11 overall for the Osaka outfit.
