Former Manchester United and Arsenal captain Robin van Persie is being urged to return to Feyenoord.

Ex-Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt remains close to the Fenerbahce striker.

"My friend Robin. We played together for 10 years for the national team and with Feyenoord," said Kuyt.

"We both have much in common. Football, our families, Fenerbahce, Feyenoord ... Sometimes I make a joke to him to come to Feyenoord in the new season.

"But I'm not his career planner."
