Ex-Man City, Toronto FC midfielder Dunfield makes Oldham debut

English League One club Oldham Athletic signed midfielder Terry Dunfield last week.

The 32-year old Canadian international joined the Latics on a deal lasting for the remainder of the English season following a successful trial with the Greater Manchester club.

Dunfield, who started his career with Manchester City, spent the past few seasons in MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC.

He first played for the Whitecaps in 2010 when they were in the USSF Division 2 before becoming part of their inaugural MLS roster. Dunfield was then traded to Canadian rivals Toronto in mid-2011 before he was waived last year.

On Saturday, the former Bury, Macclesfield Town and Shrewsbury Town midfielder came on as a second-half substitute as the Latics edged Gillingham 1-0 at Boundary Park to move up to 14th on the English third tier table.
