Derek Fazackerley is being linked with Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle says Toon boss Kevin Keegan will be aware that Fazackerley, who he had as a coach in his first spell as manager with United and again at Manchester City and England, has been shown the door at Eastlands by new boss Mark Hughes.

Current United coach Steve Round is on holiday, and although his contract expires a week on Monday, he still does not know whether it is going to be renewed.
