Ex-Man City chief Rigg joins FA as 'talent identification' chief

Former Manchester City technical director Mike Rigg has been named head of talent identification at the FA.

Rigg, who moved to QPR from City last year, will start on a permanent basis in January and will be given the task of overseeing talent identification at all age groups in both the men's and women's game.

FA director of elite development Dan Ashworth said: "I'm delighted that Mike will be joining us, he brings a wealth of experience and will be an asset to the organisation moving forward.

"It was a long and extensive interview process, but in Mike we have someone with a unique and varied background. He has experienced working in academies, national associations and recently was part of the Manchester City team that won the Premier League."
