Ex-Man City boss Pearce: No chance Aguero moves to Premier League rivals

Manchester City will not sell Sergio Aguero to any of their Premier League rivals, according to their former manager Stuart Pearce.

The Argentine had been rumoured to be a target of Chelsea, however, City manager Pep Guardiola publicly denied that Aguero would be sold.

And Pearce, who also played for City, believes the club will deny the advances of their rivals in the future.

"He will find a way of getting in the team. He's been fantastic over a number of years," the former England international defender told talkSPORT.

"The one thing you have got to be aware of, as well, if you end up selling your best players – it's like Tottenham have sold Walker to Manchester City – not only does it weaken you it strengthens the opposition who you are going to play against.

"They won't want Aguero going anywhere in the Premier League for a start.

"Especially with Aguero you can't afford to do that so I think they will keep him.

"I still think he's got a strong future at City – he will get you goals no doubt."
