Former Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan is convinced Roberto Mancini will lead them to title glory.
City boss Roberto Mancini admitted after that they didn't prepare well enough for defeat to Everton and added: "It was my mistake."
"It was refreshing to see a manager admit his mistakes.
"More than that it was an attempt by Mancini to protect his players. He didn't want to lambast them because they have done so well for him this season.
"The manager and his players are in it together and that relationship is critical. You have got to remember that unlike United, City aren't used to winning things.
"If the club is going to take that next big step and win the title this season, they're going to have to do it together."His admission was viewed as Mancini losing the title plot but ex-boss Keegan said: "Roberto admitted he had underestimated Everton.
