Former Manchester City and Fulham boss Mark Hughes may step in to help Wales following the death of Gary Speed.
The Daily Express says the Welsh FA, stunned by Speed's apparent suicide, have a council meeting on Thursday when tentative talks about a successor will be held.
Chief executive Jonathan Ford and president Phil Pritchard are acutely aware of the pain Speed's family are going through and their thoughts are on helping them.
The Welsh FA are still grieving themselves and Ford, who with Pritchard appointed Speed only 11 months ago, looked sad and drawn yesterday. He met the Welsh staff and held a minute's silence amid tears.
Hughes, who managed Speed as a Wales player, is out of work since leaving Fulham. It is thought he would be willing to step in and help out, whether it be in a temporary or permanent role.
