Former Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson wants to return to the Premiership after being sacked by Mexico yesterday.
His agent Athole Still said: "A Premier League club would be his first choice."
The Swede, 61, was linked with the manager's position at Portsmouth when Tony Adams lost his job two months ago.
Ex-England chief Eriksson, axed by Manchester City last summer, lasted just 10 months in charge of Mexico.
A 3-1 defeat to Honduras in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday proved to be the final straw following a run of one win in seven matches.
Mexican chief Justino Compean said: "We could not take risks with qualification for the World Cup."
