Former Manchester City and England boss Sven Goran Eriksson has confirmed talks with the Ivory Coast FA.
Ivory Coast skipper Didier Drogba, the Chelsea star, had urged Guus Hiddink to take the reins but the former Chelsea and Russia chief declined the offer.
Eriksson, out of work since quitting Notts County last month, said: "I have met them and had a discussion. I am very interested. I enjoy life in the dug-out and on the training pitch. I miss that."
