Andrea Dossena says he is on the hunt for a new club after departing Sunderland at the end of last season.
The 32-year old Italian joined the Black Cats from Napoli in September last year but was largely unused in his only campaign at the Stadium of Light with Marcos Alonso preferred at left-back.
Dossena, who has previously played with Liverpool, is currently a free agent and admits he is hoping to find a new club in England soon although he would not be adverse to a different adventure.
“I hope to live a new experience abroad,” he told tuttomercatoweb.com.
“The Premier League is the best league today, but I don't rule out other possibilities in other championships.”
Of his Sunderland departure, the 10-time Italy international added: “I suffered an injury that put me at a disadvantage.
“Then, in January, Marcos Alonso arrived from Fiorentina and the coach chose him instead of me. This is the reason why I have not played much.”
