Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has weighed into Raheem Sterling's contract issues.
The England international's future at Anfield is the subject of intense speculation after he admitted turning down a new £100,000-a-week deal.
"He's an individual who knows what he wants," Bolton Wanderers striker Heskey told talkSPORT.
"He's said some things, that it's about trophies and winning things, and if Liverpool can show they can do that, I'm sure he will put pen to paper.
"I left Leicester for Liverpool for the same reason, because I wanted to win trophies.
"Hopefully they can show they are ambitious enough to win trophies and then he will sign."
