Former Liverpool midfielder Bolo Zenden is convinced Andy Carroll is set for a big season ahead.
Zenden wrote in the Daily Star: "It is fair to say he hasn't fully justified that huge £35million price tag just yet - but let me say he didn't come up with that figure so should not carry the burden himself.
"Brendan Rodgers has replaced the legend that is Kenny Dalglish at Anfield and Carroll's season depends on how the new manager wants to play the game.
"We know from his time at Swansea that it'll be a touch and move approach, similar to the way we tried to play during my time on Merseyside.
"I think with that amount of money spent on acquiring his services, Carroll will have to figure in some way.
"One way or another, it could be exciting times for the Kop."
