Former Liverpool star Emile Heskey says that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp needs even more time in the transfer market to improve his squad.
The Reds added the likes of Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to their squad this summer while midfielder Naby Keita is set to arrive next summer.
However, the Reds tasted defeat in the pursuit of their top transfer target – Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
"You always want the club to keep buying players to improve all the time," Heskey told the Liverpool Echo.
"He is doing that, but it's a journey not a sprint.
"You have got to understand people just want them to go and buy, but you can't just buy all the time.
"I think he is doing it the right way and taking his time with it."
