Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore says Manchester United pair Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck aren't good enough for England.

Collymore wrote in the Sunday Mirror: "There's no denying there's some talent coming through, but I'm still not convinced players like Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley quite have what it takes to make it at the highest level.

"Welbeck might have scored four goals in 12 games for England and he does look good when he's facing goal and playing instinctively, but he still has to be a bit better when it comes to holding the ball up when it's played into him.

"As for Cleverley, his passing was a bit off against San Marino on Friday and I'm not certain he has the guile and imagination to be a real star of international football."
